Process is 1. Understanding the best available interest rate for home loan balance transfer/ refinance. 2. Get the list of documents held by your current lender and Principal Outstanding Statement Your current lender can provide you with a list of all the documents that you submitted at the time of taking disbursement of your current home loan. This document list shall be required during balance transfer/ refinance so you should request your current lender to provide you one. Also, you should collect a Principal Outstanding Statement from your current lender which mentions the current outstanding principal amount on your existing home loan, current EMI that you pay and the balance tenure (in months). 3. Apply for balance transfer/ refinance to your target lender 4. Get the documents from your original lender You shall require a consent letter or NOC from your original lender in order to proceed on your home loan balance transfer/refinance. Post sanction and Loan Agreement the new lender shall prepare a cheque to give to your old lender to close out the loan. The old lender will close out the existing loan handover your original property documents which have to be submitted to the new lender.
