The interest rate payable to SBI Staff and SBI pensioners will be 1.00% above the applicable rate. The rate applicable to all Senior Citizens and SBI Pensioners of age 60 years and above will be 0.25% above the rate payable for all tenors to resident Indian senior citizens i.e. SBI resident Indian Senior Citizen Pensioners will get both the benefits of Staff (1%) and resident Indian Senior Citizens (0.25%).
State Bank of India or SBI offers a blueprint on the deposit interest rates for both regular account holders as well as the senior citizens. For an amount of Rs 2,20,000 at the rate of interest 7.00% with a tenure of 3 years for regular account holders the closing amount will round upto Rs 2,70,917 and for a senior citizen for the same amount and time period the interest on an amount of Rs 2,20,000 will be Rs 2,72,921 on quarterly compounding frequency.
