The FD interest rate payable to SBI Staff and SBI pensioners will be 1.00% above the applicable rate. The rate applicable to all Senior Citizens and SBI Pensioners of age 60 years and above will be 0.25% above the rate payable for all tenors to resident Indian senior citizens i.e. SBI resident Indian Senior Citizen Pensioners will get both the benefits of Staff (1%) and resident Indian Senior Citizens (0.25%).
A special ‘SBI Wecare’ Deposit for Senior Citizens in the Retail TD segment wherein an additional premium of 50 bps over & above the existing 50 bps i.e. 100 bps over card rate for public (as indicated in the above table) will be paid to Senior Citizens on their retail TD for ‘5 Years and above’ tenor only. ‘SBI Wecare’ deposit scheme stands extended up to 31st March 2023.

SBI offers a blueprint on the deposit interest rates for both regular account holders as well as the senior citizens. For an amount of Rs 2,20,000 at the rate of interest 6.80% with a tenure of 3 years for regular account holders the closing amount will round upto Rs 2,35,345 and for a senior citizen for the same amount and time period the interest on an amount of Rs 2,20,000 will be Rs 2,36,505 on quarterly compounding frequency.
