Maruti Aug 2023 Car Sales: Brezza, Baleno, Fronx, Swift

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) sold a total of 1,56,114 units in August 2023, registering a growth of 16.3% YoY from 1,34,166 units sold in August 2022. The company’s domestic sales stood at 1,50,841 units, up 16.7% YoY from 130,484 units sold in the same month last year. Exports were at 5,273 units, up 11.5% YoY from 4,732 units.

The top-selling model for MSIL in August 2023 was the Swift, with sales of 17,896 units, followed by the Brezza (16,543 units), Ertiga (14,352 units), Dzire (13,395 units) and Wagon R (12,970 units).

The company’s sales in the current financial year (April-August 2023) stood at 7,22,295 units, up 12.8% YoY from 6,46,170 units sold in the same period of the previous year.

Here is the detailed sales breakdown of Maruti Suzuki in August 2023:

  • Passenger vehicles (PVs): 1,56,114 units, up 16.3% YoY
  • Commercial vehicles (CVs): 4,000 units, up 46.8% YoY

The company attributed the growth in sales to the festive season and the launch of new models, such as the Baleno and the S-Presso. However, the company also noted that the semiconductor shortage continued to impact production and deliveries.
